System Requirements
About the Whole-Building Diagnostician
The Whole-Building Diagnostician (WBD) is a modular diagnostic software system that provides detection and diagnosis of common problems associated with the operation of heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) systems and equipment in buildings.
The WBD software requires the following minimum computer platform:
- A personal computer with an Intel or equivalent microprocessor
- Windows NT™, Windows 2000™, or Windows XP™
- Available hard disk space of 5 MB for the program files; additional space is required for database files, however, the size required depends on the number of buildings monitored
- A minimum of 16 MB RAM is recommended
- Requires installation of Data Acess Object (DAO) files that are provided with the WBD installation CD
- The WBD currently supports Microsoft Access databases; other database formats may be supported in the future.
Data Requirements
The WBD requires initial setup data to characterize each system, and then periodically collects the required data to monitor the system.
