Data Requirements
Set-up Data
The Outdoor Air Economizer (OAE) diagnostic module requires several one-time data inputs to characterize the systems present and how they are controlled. These data include:
- maximum possible outside-air fraction
- freeze protection or supply temperature control
- minimum acceptable outside-air ventilation rate
- type of air-handling unit
- type of economizer control
Metered Data
The OAE diagnostic module requires a minimum of six periodically collected (currently at hourly increments) data points: outside-air temperature, return-air temperature, mixed-air temperature, heating and cooling status, and on/off status of the supply fan. In addition, damper position is also required for AHUs with damper position control. For economizers with enthalpy-based control, outside- and return-air (only for differential enthalpy control) relative humidity or dew-point temperature are required. If the supply-air temperature is available, additional diagnostics are provided.
